This is the civil war memorial from the Old City Cemetery in Sacramento, California. One of the things I love about this memorial is that it is fully painted and has such a beautiful color to it. I have always had a soft spot for veterans section in cemeteries. I love to see flags on the graves of veterans, for flags are such a simple way to acknowledge someone who served this country, and yet so few places take the time to do it.One of the things on my "bucket list" is to go to the Normandy American Cemetery Colleville Sur Mer. The people of France are wonderful about keeping this cemetery in wonderful condition.
